USS Peto (SS-265) was a Gato-class fleet submarine, part of the class that formed the backbone of America's undersea campaign in the Pacific. Gato-class boats were the first mass-produced fleet submarines capable of extended patrols across the vast distances of the Pacific theater. With a crew of approximately 80 men, these boats operated in conditions of extreme confinement, oppressive heat, and constant danger, conducting war patrols that could last two months or more.
Our Peto gear speaks to anyone who understands submarine culture and the history behind every hull number in the fleet. This collection is designed for submarine veterans, their families, and serious military collectors.
