1st Infantry Division Artillery (DIVARTY)

The 1st Infantry Division Artillery, known as DIVARTY, functions as the artillery command and central fires authority for the 1st Infantry Division based at Fort Riley, Kansas. Throughout its history, it has been affiliated with the division during several periods: 1917-1939, 1940-1995, 1996-2005, and was revived in October 2015.

The unit has been positioned both at Fort Riley, Kansas, and overseas in Germany. In terms of combat, the DIVARTY has played pivotal roles in numerous conflicts: World War I, World War II, the Vietnam War, Operation Desert Storm, and Operation Iraqi Freedom.

One of its main duties is to ensure a consistent fires certification and nurture leadership. Moreover, DIVARTY epitomizes effective mission command and facilitates the smooth integration of units by fostering standard procedures and a mutual understanding of fire-related combat capabilities.
