The Air Force Sustainment Center at Tinker AFB manages depot-level maintenance and supply for the entire Air Force fleet. Three Air Logistics Complexes at Tinker, Robins AFB in Georgia, and Hill AFB in Utah perform heavy maintenance, overhaul, and repair that cannot be done at base level. These depots keep aging aircraft like the B-52, KC-135, and C-130 flying decades beyond their original design life.

Deployed logistics operations sustained every air base in Iraq and Afghanistan. Theater supply chains moved parts from stateside depots to forward operating locations in days. Prepositioned war reserve materiel allowed rapid standup of bare bases. Logistics airmen managed fuels operations that kept aircraft flying nonstop combat sorties, maintained vehicles that moved everything on base, and processed the constant flow of cargo and personnel through theater.
