USS Archerfish (SSN-678)

USS Archerfish (SSN-678) was a Sturgeon-class nuclear attack submarine, part of the largest class of nuclear attack boats built until the Los Angeles-class. The 37 Sturgeon-class submarines formed the backbone of the Cold War attack submarine fleet, conducting intelligence-gathering missions, tracking Soviet submarines and surface forces, and operating under Arctic ice in support of national strategic objectives.
