Unit history
Built as part of the V-boat program, USS Barracuda (SS-163) represented an early American attempt to build a large, ocean-going submarine capable of fleet operations. The lessons learned from these boats directly informed the designs that would later prove devastating in the Pacific.
Our USS Barracuda merchandise is part of a larger commitment to preserving the heritage of every boat in the American submarine fleet. Designed for veterans, active duty submariners, and military families, every item in this collection serves the memory of those who served beneath the waves.
