USS Clamagore (SS-343)

In the long history of American undersea warfare, USS Clamagore (SS-343) occupies a place earned through real operational results. USS Clamagore is one of only two GUPPY III submarines still in existence. She served through the Cold War and is preserved at Patriots Point Naval and Maritime Museum in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. USS Clamagore survives today as a museum ship, one of the few places where anyone can experience the cramped reality of wartime submarine life.
