USS Cod (SS-224)

USS Cod (SS-224) earned a reputation that still resonates in the submarine community decades after her service. USS Cod completed seven war patrols and is notable for conducting one of the only international submarine-to-submarine rescues in history, saving the crew of the stranded Dutch submarine O-19 in the South China Sea. She is preserved as a museum ship in Cleveland, Ohio. Preserved as a museum ship, USS Cod gives the public a rare chance to step inside a World War II submarine.
