USS Columbus (SSN-762)
"Semper Fortis"
USS Columbus (SSN-762) was a Los Angeles-class nuclear attack submarine, part of the largest class of nuclear submarines ever built. Sixty-two Los Angeles-class boats were constructed between 1972 and 1996, forming the core of the Navy's undersea combat power through the end of the Cold War and well into the 21st century. Designed for speed, the class could keep pace with carrier battle groups while maintaining the acoustic stealth needed to hunt enemy submarines.
For the crews who served aboard USS Columbus and the families who kept the home fires burning through long and silent deployments, this collection carries real meaning. Built by veterans for the submarine community.
