Every submarine that leaves port accepts the possibility of not returning. For USS Corvina (SS-226), a Gato-class boat operating in the Central Pacific, that possibility became reality. Lost November 16, 1943, torpedoed by Japanese submarine I-176 south of Truk. All 82 crew perished. The only U.S. submarine confirmed sunk by a Japanese submarine.
This collection carries the name of USS Corvina forward. Her crew made the ultimate sacrifice, and every piece of merchandise here is designed to keep that memory alive for submarine veterans, families, and historians.
