USS Current (ARS-22) — Diver-Class Rescue and Salvage Ship

USS Current (ARS-22) was a Diver-class rescue and salvage ship commissioned in 1944. She served in the Pacific during WWII and continued through the Korean War, recovering sunken vessels, clearing harbors of wreckage, and towing damaged warships. Diver-class ARS ships were the backbone of the Navy's wartime salvage capability.
