Unit history
Carrying the Tench-class designation, USS Cutlass (SS-478) was part of the last generation of American fleet submarines designed for the Pacific war. Many Tench-class boats were completed too late for combat but proved their worth during the Cold War, receiving GUPPY modifications that extended their service lives well into the nuclear age.
Our USS Cutlass merchandise is part of a larger commitment to preserving the heritage of every boat in the American submarine fleet. Designed for veterans, active duty submariners, and military families, every item in this collection serves the memory of those who served beneath the waves.
