USS Escolar (SS-294), a Balao-class fleet boat, belongs to the roll of submarines that departed on war patrol and never returned. Lost around October 17, 1944, likely to a mine in the Yellow Sea. All 82 crew perished during her first war patrol.
Our USS Escolar collection exists to ensure her crew is not forgotten. Each item is a tribute to the submariners who climbed down the hatch knowing they might not climb back out. Built for submarine veterans, their families, and everyone who honors their sacrifice.
