Unit history
As a Balao-class fleet submarine, USS Goldring (SS-360) incorporated the lessons learned from the early war patrols into a stronger, more capable boat. The Balao-class kept the proven Gato layout but added a pressure hull rated for greater depth, a quiet improvement that saved lives when depth charges fell close.
Every item in our USS Goldring collection represents a connection to the submarine force and the crews who made these boats legendary. Designed by veterans for veterans, family members, and historians who refuse to let these stories fade.
