USS Grenadier (SS-210)

USS Grenadier (SS-210) is among the 52 American submarines lost during World War II. Her Tambor-class hull carried a crew into the Malacca Strait where they fought and were lost. Scuttled April 22, 1943 after being disabled by Japanese aircraft bombs off Penang. Her crew was captured and endured brutal captivity for the remainder of the war. Four men died as POWs. Our USS Grenadier collection exists to ensure her crew is not forgotten. Each item is a tribute to the submariners who climbed down the hatch knowing they might not climb back out. Built for submarine veterans, their families, and everyone who honors their sacrifice.
