USS Grunion (SS-216)

There is no homecoming story for USS Grunion (SS-216). This Gato-class submarine was lost during operations in the Aleutian Islands, and her crew never returned. Lost July 30, 1942, in the Aleutian Islands. All 70 crew perished. Her wreck was discovered in 2006 off Kiska Island by a search team led by the sons of her commanding officer.
