USS Haddo (SSN-604)

USS Haddo (SSN-604) was a Permit-class nuclear attack submarine, part of the class that introduced the massive bow-mounted sonar array that fundamentally changed how submarines found and tracked their targets. By relocating torpedo tubes to amidships, the Permit design gave its sonar operators an unobstructed acoustic aperture that made these boats the most capable submarine hunters in the world when they entered service.
