USS Irex (SS-482)

USS Irex (SS-482) was a Tench-class submarine that proved what aggressive, well-led boats could accomplish in the Pacific campaign. USS Irex had a distinguished Cold War career, operating in the Atlantic and Mediterranean. She earned the distinction of being one of the most active Tench-class boats during early Cold War operations. We built the USS Irex collection for submariners and their families.
