USS Newport News (SSN-750)

In the history of the nuclear submarine force, USS Newport News (SSN-750) occupies a significant position. Newport News was a Los Angeles-class submarine involved in a collision with the Japanese tanker Mogamigawa in the Strait of Hormuz in January 2007. She also launched Tomahawk missiles during Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2003.
