USS Pampanito (SS-383)
The combat record of USS Pampanito (SS-383) represents everything the American submarine force was designed to accomplish. USS Pampanito completed six war patrols and is remembered for her role in rescuing Allied POWs from the sea after unwittingly attacking a Japanese convoy carrying British and Australian prisoners of war. She is preserved as a museum ship at Fisherman's Wharf in San Francisco.
Today, USS Pampanito is preserved as a museum ship where visitors can walk her decks and feel the confined spaces where her crew lived and fought. Our Pampanito collection complements that experience with apparel and merchandise that carries her legacy beyond the museum walls.
