USS Perch (SS-176)

USS Perch (SS-176), a P-class (Shark/Perch/Porpoise) fleet boat, belongs to the roll of submarines that departed on war patrol and never returned. Scuttled March 3, 1942 after severe depth charge damage near Java. Her crew abandoned ship and was captured by the Japanese, spending the remainder of the war as POWs. Several crew members died in captivity. Our USS Perch collection exists to ensure her crew is not forgotten. Each item is a tribute to the submariners who climbed down the hatch knowing they might not climb back out. Built for submarine veterans, their families, and everyone who honors their sacrifice.
