Unit history
Built during the interwar period, USS Plunger (SS-179) was a P-class submarine that entered the war as part of the existing fleet. These boats were not as capable as the later Gato and Balao classes, but their crews fought with the same determination, often in the most dangerous waters of the early Pacific campaign.
Our USS Plunger merchandise is part of a larger commitment to preserving the heritage of every boat in the American submarine fleet. Designed for veterans, active duty submariners, and military families, every item in this collection serves the memory of those who served beneath the waves.
