USS Pollack (SSN-603)

As a Permit-class nuclear submarine, USS Pollack (SSN-603) served during the most intense years of the undersea Cold War. The Permit-class combined deep-diving capability with the BQQ-2 sonar suite, giving American submariners a decisive advantage in detecting and tracking Soviet submarines across the vast distances of the open ocean.
