USS Pomfret (SS-391)

USS Pomfret (SS-391) belonged to the Balao-class, the most numerous class of submarine built for the U.S. Navy during the war. With over 120 boats constructed, the Balao design represented the mature, combat-proven fleet submarine that carried the fight to Japan in the final years of the conflict.
