USS Pomodon (SS-486)

Carrying the Tench-class designation, USS Pomodon (SS-486) was part of the last generation of American fleet submarines designed for the Pacific war. Many Tench-class boats were completed too late for combat but proved their worth during the Cold War, receiving GUPPY modifications that extended their service lives well into the nuclear age. The USS Pomodon collection exists because every boat in the fleet carried a crew that deserves to be remembered.
