USS Pompano (SS-181) is among the 52 American submarines lost during World War II. Her P-class (Shark/Perch/Porpoise) hull carried a crew into the North Pacific where they fought and were lost. Lost around September 1943, likely by mine off northeastern Honshu. All 76 crew perished.
Our USS Pompano collection exists to ensure her crew is not forgotten. Each item is a tribute to the submariners who climbed down the hatch knowing they might not climb back out. Built for submarine veterans, their families, and everyone who honors their sacrifice.
