Unit history
USS Robalo (SS-273) was a Gato-class submarine whose service ended the way too many boats' stories did during the Pacific war. Lost July 26, 1944, likely from a mine explosion near Palawan. Four survivors reached shore but were captured by the Japanese and transported to a POW camp in Puerto Princesa. They were never heard from again.
We carry USS Robalo merchandise because names like hers should not fade. For submarine veterans, military families, and anyone who understands what these crews risked, this collection is a way to remember.
