USS San Francisco (SSN-711)
"Semper Fortis"
In the history of the nuclear submarine force, USS San Francisco (SSN-711) occupies a significant position. San Francisco was a Los Angeles-class submarine that struck an uncharted seamount at full speed on January 8, 2005 while operating south of Guam. The collision killed one sailor and injured 97. The crew's damage control response, which brought a severely damaged submarine to the surface and back to port, is considered one of the finest examples of seamanship in modern submarine history.
The San Francisco collection exists because every boat in the fleet carried a crew that earned the right to be remembered. Our apparel and memorabilia are built for submarine veterans and the families who stood with them.
