USS Scorpion (SS-278)

The final chapter of USS Scorpion (SS-278) was written in the East China Sea. This Gato-class submarine was lost during the grinding Pacific submarine campaign. Lost around February 6, 1944, likely by mine or depth charge in the East China Sea or Yellow Sea. All 77 crew perished during her fourth war patrol.
