In the history of the nuclear submarine force, USS Seadragon (SSN-584) occupies a significant position. Seadragon was a Skate-class nuclear submarine that made the first submerged transit of the Northwest Passage in August 1960, traveling from the Atlantic to the Pacific beneath the Canadian Arctic Archipelago. This transit demonstrated that nuclear submarines could use the Arctic as a transit route between oceans.
The Seadragon collection exists because every boat in the fleet carried a crew that earned the right to be remembered. Our apparel and memorabilia are built for submarine veterans and the families who stood with them.
