Unit history
USS Seal (SS-183) was a Salmon-class submarine that served during the critical transition from peacetime to wartime operations. The Salmon-class boats were among the most capable submarines in the pre-war fleet and saw extensive combat in the Pacific, enduring depth charge attacks and mechanical challenges that tested their crews to the limit.
We built the USS Seal collection for people who understand what a hull number means. For submarine veterans, their families, and history enthusiasts, this merchandise is a way to carry the legacy of the submarine force forward.
