Unit history
Built during the interwar period, USS Tarpon (SS-175) was a P-class submarine that entered the war as part of the existing fleet. These boats were not as capable as the later Gato and Balao classes, but their crews fought with the same determination, often in the most dangerous waters of the early Pacific campaign.
Our Tarpon merchandise honors the crew who served aboard this submarine. Designed for submarine veterans, military history collectors, and the families who share in the legacy of undersea service, each item reflects the authentic spirit of the Silent Service.
