The Gato-class submarine USS Tullibee (SS-284) departed for the Central Pacific and never sent another transmission. Her loss is part of the steep price the submarine force paid in the Pacific. Lost March 26, 1944, struck by her own circular-running torpedo north of Palau. Only one crew member, Gunner's Mate C.W. Kuykendall, survived. He was picked up by a Japanese ship and spent the rest of the war as a POW.
Our Tullibee gear honors a boat and crew who paid the highest price. Designed for submarine veterans and military families, every item in this collection carries the weight of real history.
