USS Tunny (SS-282)

USS Tunny (SS-282) was a Gato-class submarine that proved what aggressive, well-led boats could accomplish in the Pacific campaign. USS Tunny completed nine war patrols and was later converted to carry and launch Regulus guided missiles during the Cold War, serving as an early precursor to ballistic missile submarine capability.
