USS Volador (SS-490)

Carrying the Tench-class designation, USS Volador (SS-490) was part of the last generation of American fleet submarines designed for the Pacific war. Many Tench-class boats were completed too late for combat but proved their worth during the Cold War, receiving GUPPY modifications that extended their service lives well into the nuclear age.
