USS Wabash (AOR-5) was The USS WABASH (AOR-5), a Wichita-class replenishment oiler, was commissioned on 20 NOV 1971. USS WABASH was built by General Dynamics Shipbuilding in Quincy, MA and, after fit out and shakedown training, sailed for her new homeport of Long Beach, CA, via the Straits of Magellan at the southern tip of South America.
