Unit history
The final chapter of USS Wahoo (SS-238) was written in the Pacific. This Gato-class submarine was lost during the grinding Pacific submarine campaign. Lost October 11, 1943, caught by Japanese aircraft and surface ships while transiting La Perouse Strait after a devastating patrol in the Sea of Japan. CDR Dudley 'Mush' Morton and all 80 crew perished. Morton was one of the most aggressive and celebrated submarine commanders of the war.
We carry USS Wahoo merchandise because names like hers should not fade. For submarine veterans, military families, and anyone who understands what these crews risked, this collection is a way to remember.
