During World War II, pin-up girls were part of the war culture. Painted on B-24s and B-17s before missions, stitched onto flight jackets, taped inside bomb bays and lockers, they were a reminder of home, women, and freedom before crews climbed into flak-filled skies. Nose art wasn’t issued or approved. It was personal. It was defiance.
