USS Trutta (SS-421)

USS Trutta (SS-421) was built as a Tench-class submarine, the final refinement of the American fleet submarine design that had devastated Japan's maritime capability. Tench-class boats arrived late in the war but represented the most capable conventional submarines the U.S. had ever produced, and many went on to serve for decades during the Cold War.
