中型浮ドック (AFDM)
中型補助浮きドック（AFDMと指定）は最大18,000トンの揚力能力を持ち、前進作戦基地で駆逐艦や軽巡洋艦を乾ドックに入れるのに十分な大きさでした。1943年から1945年の間に14隻が建造され、艦隊に移動修理インフラを提供し、損傷した軍艦を本国造船所まで何千マイルも送る必要をなくしました。驚くべきことに、これらの第二次世界大戦時代のドックのうち2隻、Resolute（AFDM-10）とSteadfast（AFDM-14）は、建造から80年以上が経過した2026年現在も米海軍で現役として運用されています。
